It’s no question Kanye’s been doing the most lately… to alienate fans and sponsors, alike. In light of his recent antisemitic and incredibly insensitive comments, one former fan, Danny Shiff took to TikTok to publicly denounce Ye’s dangerous, prejudice-inciting remarks by burning $15,000 worth of Yeezys from his collection.

Throughout a series of posts sporting hashtags like #burnuryeezy, #cancelkanye, #endantisemitism, and iterations of #endhate, Shiff (TikTok handle: @shiffee1) denounces Ye’s recent abhorrent comments and behavior as part of an anti-antisemitism and anti-hate campaign and burns a pair of his Yeezys. He explains how Kanye’s comments cannot be overlooked as they have the potential to incite violence and harm to Jewish people. In one TikTok he even offers anybody interested in participating to send him clips of themselves burning their own pairs of Yeezys, pledging to donate two pairs of shoes for every pair of Yeezys cast into the fire.

According to NowThis News, He plans to auction off the remaining 35 pairs in his Yeezy collection, estimated at over $25,000, and donate all of the money to charities that work to combat racism and antisemitism.

The conflagration turned out to be quite polarizing. Some endorsed the burn, commenting about how they’ve thrown out, sold, or otherwise stopped wearing their own pairs, while others have wasted no time in condemning Shiff, complaining he could have donated the shoes to the homeless or underprivileged, or that it was simply a huge waste. Regardless, Shiff has successfully raised awareness for his cause.
